Frantic February

Our February figures were 21% up on the same period last year. We knew it had been busy, but why the sudden increase after the previous months figures had been slightly down. The answer is we don’t know other than most of the users are new to food bank use and we get far more feed back than we have had in the past.

I would like to thank Kettering Foodbank for the lovely and much needed bags of food they gave me. 

I have always worked and paid my way through life, but I found myself in a desperate situation, not of my own doing but because of someone else's mistake.

I'm on long term sick and get the basic Universal Credit. I found myself having to pay a huge bill and had no money to buy food, after paying my normal house hold bills.  I’d tried to sort it out for the last 2 months but found myself overdrawn within days of getting my benefit. 

I phoned Kettering food bank up and they helped me straight away.  I will be forever grateful that there was someone to talk to and somewhere to go for help.

Again thank you for your wonderful help and as soon as I am back on my feet I will payback what you gave me.  

I want to help someone else who finds themselves in the same desperate situation I found myself in.
